Cavanaugh, a former Division I player with multiple levels of coaching experience, brings a broad knowledge
of volleyball and an understanding of player development.

Cavanaugh demonstrated her talent in leading the Yeowomen in 2005. Her guidance resulted in triple the
number of wins from 2004. The team raised their expectations for success, undoubtedly leading to greater
competitive outcomes.

Prior to her arrival at Oberlin, Cavanaugh spent three seasons as an assistant coach for Kent State
University. While with the Golden Flashes, she worked with the team’s setters, assisting with their tactical and
technical development while also implementing offensive and defensive game plans.
A graduate of East Tennessee State University, Cavanaugh earned a bachelor’s degree in sport
management as a member of the Dean’s list. She captained the Buccaneers for three seasons and was
named to the All-Southern Conference team three times. She was the 2001 Southern Conference Player of
Year and the East Tennessee State Athlete of the Year in 2001-2002.
