This past weekend, our volleyball community gathered in Pittsburgh for the Steel City Tournament, accompanied by other Ohio Valley Region (OVR) events hosted at Elite Sports, Athletix, and CLWCC. With 17 teams representing our program, the weekend unfolded as a compelling narrative of triumphs and challenges, showcasing the dedication and skills of our athletes.

Team Performances:

In the 12U category, both our teams, 12 Grey from CLWCC and 12 Navy from Steel City, demonstrated exceptional performances. Notably, 12 Navy secured an impressive 2nd place in the Gold division, setting the tone for the weekend with their skillful play and determination.

Moving into the 13U category, Team 13 Elite from Steel City emerged as champions in the Silver division, showcasing their prowess on the court. Meanwhile, Team 13 Navy at Elite Sports battled fiercely, earning a well-deserved 3rd place in the competitive Gold division. Additionally, Team 13 Prime at Athletix and Team 13 Select at Elite Sports secured 2nd and 1st place, respectively, in the Gold division, highlighting the depth of talent across our teams.

In the 14U category, the competition intensified, and our teams rose to the challenge. Teams 14 Elite at Steel City, 14 Navy at Elite Sports, and 14 Prime at Steel City all displayed commendable efforts, finishing 5th in the Gold division. The 14 Select team at OVR Elite dominated their category, securing a 1st place position with an impressive 6-0 record.

As the age categories progressed, our 15U, 16U, 17U, and 18U teams continued to make their mark. Teams like 15 Elite, 15 Prime, 16 Elite, and 16 Prime at Steel City showcased consistent performances, securing 2nd and 3rd place finishes in their respective Gold divisions. Meanwhile, Team 17 Elite faced tough competition, finishing 7th in the Gold division. The weekend concluded with a dominating performance from Team 18 Elite at Steel City, achieving a perfect 6-0 record and securing the 1st place position in the Gold division.
